What you will do

This position will be responsible for the maintenance, upgrades, and repair of all IT systems and infrastructure, including network hardware/software/connectivity, client workstations, and all other items connected to EMPACT-owned area networks. This position reports to and will work closely with the Director of Technological Innovation to design and deploy IT solutions. This position will also communicate with external partners and vendors to coordinate purchases, requisitions, repairs, etc. This position is a member of the Technology division and will report to the Director of Technological Innovation, and at times be expected to work with other team members to provide limited support for select software development efforts.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and keeping up to date all network and server equipment (firewall, NAS, switches, cabling, etc.)
  • Supporting end users by troubleshooting and resolving workstation issues related to operating systems, software, hardware, accounts, connections, and other aspects
  • Ensuring the security and privacy of EMPACT network systems and connected devices
  • Defining the specifications and purchasing of new computer systems and hardware
  • Maintaining up-to-date logs and records of company-owned devices
  • Supporting remote users with day-to-day technical issues or connection problems
  • Providing limited support outside of normal business hours to remediate emergency situations that may arise
  • Routinely adding and updating user account information in Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory

What you will bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience working in IT-related positions supporting end users and/or network infrastructure is required.
  • Certifications that are recommended but not required upon hiring are as follows: CompTIA (Net+ or Sec+), Cisco (CCNP or CCNA), Lean Six-Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt), PMP, AWS (Cloud Practitioner or Associate Cloud Solutions Architect). Upon hiring, must get certified in CompTIA Net+ (or equivalent) AND AWS Cloud Practitioner within six (6) months of hire date (company paid).
  • Interpersonal skills, technical communication, Windows operating systems, Windows IIS 10, network troubleshooting, network security, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, basic batch scripting, and AWS (specifically EC2, S3, and Route 53)
