What you will do

This position will be responsible for maintaining existing internal software, as well as planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting future software. This position reports to and will work closely with the Director of Technological Innovation, while also working alongside other developers and analysts to design and build software for internal use. Additionally, this position will communicate directly with colleagues to understand software requirements and acquire acceptance on implemented features and enhancements. Training new developers and other technical staff may also be necessary at times.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Utilize industry-standard software development tools to create applications with the following technologies: .NET/C#, Node.js/JavaScript, Python, SQL/PostgreSQL, and AWS
• Actively maintain and organize code repositories for libraries and applications using Azure DevOps, Git, and Team Foundation Services (TFS)
• Use direct feedback from users and colleagues to enhance aspects of new and existing software
• Act as product owner and subject matter expert for organization-level software applications
• Implement new software solutions based on project plans, schedules, designs, and architectures defined by senior engineers and project managers
• Develop documentation for all implemented features, systems, and upgrades – including technical documentation and user manuals
• Integrate business-facing applications with other systems using external APIs and plugin frameworks
• Attend routine stand-up, prioritization, and alignment sessions

What you will bring

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, or related field is required (in exceptional cases, practical experience can be substituted for formal education)
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a software developer role is required
• Extensive experience with JavaScript and Node.js is required
• Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), .NET Framework, and C#
• A working knowledge of power distribution and/or communication engineering is recommended but not required
• Attention to detail and the ability to communication effectively across all levels of the business
• Interpersonal skills, technical communication, Windows operating systems, Windows IIS 10, basic batch scripting, and AWS (specifically EC2, S3, and Route 53)
• An entrepreneurial spirit with an all-hands-on-deck mentality primed for rapid growth in the company
