What you will do

This position will be responsible for designing and implementing manual and automated test cases, as well as collaborating with users and developers to ensure that standards of quality and functionality are being met across all software systems. This position reports to the Director of Technological Innovation. Additionally, this position will contribute to maintenance and triage efforts, such as debugging application issues, troubleshooting user problems, and authoring code to introduce patches and fixes.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and execute manual and automated test cases
  • Identify and help remediate software issues in new systems and features before they ship
  • Communicate between departments to understand workflows necessary for effective testing
  • Utilize industry-standard software to debug, troubleshoot, and test code and features
  • Help build out test workflow standards and contribute to the organization’s overall testing strategy
  • Help develop documentation for new and existing software, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, process diagrams, etc.
  • Analyze user stories, crash reports, and other details to determine the best approach to resolve software issues
  • Act as a first responder when users experience unexpected software behavior or when problems arise
  • Attend routine stand-up, prioritization, and alignment sessions

What you will bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software development, or related field is required (in exceptional cases, practical experience can be substituted for formal education)
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a software developer role is required
  • Experience with JavaScript and Node.js
  • Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), .NET Framework, and C#
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and source control (such as TFS, Git, or Azure DevOps)
  • Familiarity with common .NET or Node test frameworks
  • Ability to effectively recognize patterns and solve problems with minimal guidance
  • A high degree of resourcefulness with the ability to make effective use of tools at your disposal
  • The ability to communicate effectively across departments of different disciplines
